Pantone Color of the Year 2020: Classic Blue

Back in 1999, before the start of the new decade (and century), Pantone chose Cerulean blue as its very first Color of the Year, the hue that best captured that current moment. And now, as we enter 2020, Pantone's newest Color of the Year is Classic Blue (19-4052), another shade that exemplifies timelessness and simplicity.

According to the official site, this variation of blue was chosen for the fact that it instills "calm, confidence, and connection" and that the blue hue "highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era."

What exactly does this mean for you as you enter the New Year? Pantone's Color of the Year sets the tone of upcoming designs in the home goods, tech gadgets, makeup space and practically every other category of shopping in between. So be prepared to see Classic Blue a lot over the course of the next few months.

And if you're ready to deck out your wardrobe, and more, in this trendy hue, the good news is you won't have to wait. Right now, tons of brands and retailers are getting in on the action.

Summer Haul

Finally summer has arrived, and eventhough it is my least favorite season (probably because where I live is hotter than hell!) I still like to make the best of it and keep myself fresh in the heat while still keeping a good look.

Summertime is not so bad if you think about not having to layer down a bunch of clothes on yourself. You can pull off some relaxed and easy looks without havin to put much thought on your outfit. So, lately I've been shopping for some pretty cool items to wear on the heat season.

Chuck Taylor OX Black Mono

First I bought myself a pair of Chuck Taylor's Converse in all black, because let's face it, no matter how hot it is outside I will always find a way to wear black.

I also got myself this super cute Beser flats with this really edgy straps, the moment I saw this shoes I knew it was love at first sight!

Women's Black Suede Lace Up Creepers

And almost done with shoes, I also got myself a pair of creepers from ebay, which of course can be worn all year long, but I find it really cool when paired with summer outfits.

Done with shoes and moving on to the prefect staple of summer, short shorts! Iwent looking for cheap ones and came up with this basic Levis blue denim one. I loved it because it has a vintage vibe with its ragged edges. I also bought some beetlejuice inspired shorts which look really alternative and just go perfect with any band t-shirt!

I went shopping some weeks ago with my friends and came upon some really basic but trendy clothes. What I loved most is that all three of this clothes are very comfortable to wear on a heat summer day!

Aren't this items so cute? I remember I wasnt even planning on buying the Blue Metal CCP shirt, but it just grew into me so fast, that before I knew it, it was already sitting in my closet with the tag waiting to be taken away.

Black Lace Crop Top

Also the Black Lace shirt from H&M is gorgeus and absolutely gives a gothic vibe to any outfit.

Black Cat Printed Gray Tube Dress

I am very excited too to wear the Cat Printed Gray Tube Dress from CCP! It is such a cool dress, I just wanna wear it with some platforms, black lipstick and call it a day!

Black Crisscross One Piece Swimsuit

And finally I got this gorgeus swimsuit from one of my favorite online stores, Zaful. For a long time I had been looking for a swimsuit that would fit me well. This was so easy at Zaful, since they have a great variety of swimwear to chose from. I was looking for a one piece in either black or red, and that would absolutely cover my entire butt, you know, just personal preference. An I am glas I stumbled upon this amazing swimsuit.

And last, but not least I spoiled myself with a new makeup base with aloe vera on it and a really cute black & gold wallet.

So what do you think about this summer haul? I think this are just some basics to start with for the heating season.

Pantone Color of the Year 2017: Greenery

Global color authority, better known as Pantone Color Institute, has stated that green will be all over 2017, but not just any kind of green: Pantone 15-0343, colloquially known as Greenery, which is a yellow green shade, very similar to grass and is perfect for evoking the first days of spring.

Inspired by foliage, it's no wonder Greenery is a color that inspires a connection with nature and hopefulness. Greenery regenerates,revitalizes and renews every space. It is a very refreshing color that contains the promise of a new beginning.

Time to leave pastels in 2016 where they belong and get into nature inspired colors and their transitions. Sure this spring will be lively with Greenery as its main color and will open up many upcomming trends such as neon,80's metallics, and cool patterns such as camouflage and tropical floral.

This color is so versatile it goes with everything!Brands like Balenciaga, Gucci, Michael Kors and Prada all featured it to varying extents. From dresses, pants, shirts, all the way to tights,accesories and coats, and in various textures such as: chiffon,velvet, knitts, cotton,leather etc.

Friday Flight!

So today I went on a very exciting trip to my brother's wedding. I took a plane and travelled 2 hours from here.

The hotel service was excellent and I even took some time to relax before getting ready for the night that was to come!

I went to the pool and sat there for a while drinking one of my favorite drinks at the moment

I then read about two chapters of Vampire Armand by Anne Rice. I barely started the book and I am already loving it so much.

I then went to the restaurant for something good to eat and found myself munching on a brownie cake and having some delicious Irish cream coffee.

Party Do's and Don'ts

It is inevitable to talk about this important issue this season: the large year-end party. An event to share, have fun and, unfortunately, with great potential for error. What? Yes, among so many toasts, hugs and joy,it is surprisingly easy to get confused and fall into a huge do not! But do not worry, here is the list to make no mistake ...

DO: Attend! However innocent it may seem, this event is a great opportunity to introduce you to people who rarely have the opportunity to see. This event, without being its main purpose is key to expanding your social circle. And, overall, if you really do not want to talk to anyone, nothing happens, the simple fact of being present and with good attitude gives you points.

DO NOT: Do not go to the party of you are feeling sick or angry for some reason. Remember: zero negativity is key to enjoying a party.

DO: Choose the right outfit. Get something you feel comfortable in and that suits you well. Remember to wear something adecuate for the party. There's nothing better than an ad hoc outfit for every ocassion.

DO NOT: Do not confuse the party with an opportunity to flirt with who ever happens to get on your way. It is important to socialize and be nice, but keep an appropriate distance.

DO: Be positive, cheerful and friendly. Nobody wants to hear complaints, moans or criticism to others.

DO NOT: Do not try to start counting racist, rude, dirty or sexist jokes. It is not the time nor the place, nor the audience (and probably never will).

DO: Stick to the people you know and make you feel comfortable.

DO NOT: Stay with someone who is harassing you or making you feel uncomfortable in any way possible.

DO: Stick to your host's rules. Plus it's bad taste to ignore the rules, these events require a lot of planning.

DO NOT: Do not eat as if there were no tomorrow. If necessary, enjoying a small snack before the event, but there is nothing worse than seeing someone devouring the buffet, wiping out the basket of bread or double ordering because 'it was not filled.' Remember, moderation is pure elegance.

DO: Enjoy the party. Make it worth it!

DO NOT: Drinking too much. Indeed, open bar and that is worthy to be enjoyed, but stay calm. Alcohol makes you uninhibited, significantly altering your judgment and you could end up doing or saying things that would not normally do. Harlem Shake seriously?

Always remember to enjoy your parties and events with responsability to ensure a great time. Happy holidays!

Color of the Year 2016: Rose Quartz and Serenity Taking Over

Pantone, the highest authority when it comes to color, has decided to give us much more than we expected, because this year is not one, but two colors, that will dominate 2016: rose quartz and serenity.

Rose quartz is persuasive but gentle, suggests compassion and a sense of sophistication, while Serenity is light, with a sense of air, such as the blue sky that is on us, inspiring relaxation even in the worst of times.

And now that we know that this colors will rule next year, our attention has been already focused on them. Since January we noticed this colors on coats, skirts, accessories and even makeup. It seems that we can not just leave them!

While in 2015 the Marsala took over our wardrobes, these two colors now come to please a much broader spectrum.On one hand,we have rose quartz which is the perfect touch of femininity, romance and sophistication, then there is serenity, which gives us a sense of freedom and for seasons to come there will be no limits! We can bring this two in clothing, accessories and jewelry.

Summer Bucket List!

1-.Keep on track
I love to take good care of myself and it's no surprise how I really love working out and eating healthy. I already started out on this one as I am currently training on Insanity. I find it amazing how well it makes me feel, not only it keeps me fit for the summer, but it also keeps me motivated and in a really good mood. You never know how truly strong you are until you push yourself to it!

2-.Grow out my hair
Since 2012 my hair has suffered the consequences of my constant love for colored hair. It has gone from the darkest penumbra black,electric-blue,purple haze,mossy-green,all the way to super blonde and coppery red.
Currently it's on a weird kinda ombre style having dark brown on my roots(my natural hair color),then a dark reddish brown fading into a light copper tone.

This summer I wanna let my hair grow as much as I can, which means I won't be going into chemical processing it until summer ends. I'll pamper it as much as I can. For this I already gathered an army of warriors to help me fight the war against hair deconstruction.

3-.Let my creativity out
Schools out for summer and now I have more time than ever to let my artistic spirit flow through me. I'm so into DIY projects and can't wait to get my hands into some pretty cool crafting at home.

4-.Write
As you may know writing is a major must in my life, so I'll keep going with both my stories and poetry.

5-.Do more photography
Anothe must in my life. I want to explore the entire world with my lens, whether it's under the freedom of the DSLR or under the everlasting magic of analogic photography.

6-.Design more
It's time to keep on track with my designs for ALCE and other brands and give out my full potential. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop here I go!

7-.Try new recipes
I have cero talent when it comes to cooking, but there are definitely some really yummy recipes to try out for the summer.

8-.Go on a spontaneous roadtrip
Whether it is to a big major city,or to a colonial and antique town, having a roadtrip is always a good excuse to get away from your routine, and also to explore new places.

9-.Do more DIY clothes
I've been a lot into sewing lately and I just love how I am able to create my own clothes and fill my wardrobe expectations. Besides it's a really good way to stay fashionable at a really low budget.

10-.Try some new ciggys
Been craving something different for a while.

11-.Drink more tea
I am so into trying some new and different flavors! Suggestions are so very welcome.

12-.Read more
As I mentioned before I have always had a great love for good literature. Vacations ON/Homework OFF which means I get to have plenty of time to spend it burrying my head on a good book. I've already selected a few that are now waiting to get hooked on.

13-.Hang out with my friends
What would be of summer without an amazing group of friends to hang out with? I'm hoping to be able to meet up with my peers and even gat to meet someone new out there.

14-.Go to a music show
The perfect time for amazing music!

15-.Just relax
I sometimes get the feeling like I need to getaway for a while, just stay away from anything stressing and enjoy soing nothing. It is the perfect time to cathc up with tv series or even a good film.
